Helen Mac Malmure

Helen Mac Malmure was the daughter of Chief Malmure of Atholl. Sometime in the 880s she was married to High Chief Hugh Mac Ailpin of Moray, cementing an alliance between the two tribes. In 892 she was taken prisoner by viking invaders during the Manx Conquest of Suðreyjar along with her daughter, Donada. Both women would became royal concubines of King Helgi and his son Froði

During the Manx Conquest of Northern Ireland, Hugh met Froði at the Battle of Tuam. To avenge the honor of his captured wife and daughter, Hugh challenged Froði to individual combat. Froði accepted and was badly wounded by Hugh during the fight.

In 900, King Arni dissolved the network of royal concubines, and Aslaug was sent to Scandanavia to marry a minor noble there.
