The Chiefdom of Tyrone was a Norse chiefdom in northern Ireland under the Kingdom of Mann from 893-[TBD].

History

The territory that would become Tyrone was conquered by Mann in 882 during the Manx Conquest Of Northern Ireland. Owing to its central location among the contested territories, Tyrone was the site of a number of battles between Manx and Irish rulers throughout the conflict, including the Battle Of Daire Coluimb Chille and the First and Second Battles of Derry.

Strangfjorðr was established as a vassal chiefdom of Mann by grant from King Helgi to his son Froði in 893. It became a part of the personal demesne of the King of Mann upon Froði's ascension to the throne in 896, but was re-established as a vassal chiefdom following his death in 900 in union with the Chiefdom of Strangfjorðr.
